Electromembrane extraction of streptomycin from biological fluids

چکیده

In this fundamental study, streptomycin was extracted successfully from urine and plasma using electromembrane extraction (EME). Streptomycin is an aminoglycoside with log P -7.6 selected as extremely polar model analyte. EME a microextraction technique, where charged analytes are under the influence of electrical field, sample, through supported liquid membrane (SLM), into acceptor solution. The SLM comprised 2-nitrophenyl pentyl ether (NPPE) mixed bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (DEHP). DEHP served ionic carrier facilitated transfer across SLM. For protein precipitated plasma, optimal content in 45–50% w/w. From untreated increased to 75% w/w order suppress interference proteins. Most endogenous substances UV absorbance were not acceptor. Proteins phospholipids also discriminated, <0.6% proteins <0.02% found after EME. Thus, despite fact that permeable more molecules, still provided very efficient sample cleanup. Extraction process efficiencies 98% 61% achieved respectively, linear calibration (R2 > 0.9929), absence significant matrix effects (94–112%), accuracy 94–125%, RSD ? 15% except at LLOQ. average current during extractions 67 µA or less. findings paper demonstrated feasible for basic extreme polarity.

Electromembrane extraction from biological fluids.

Electro-assisted extraction of ionic drugs from biological fluids through a supported liquid membrane (SLM) and into an aqueous acceptor solution was recently introduced as a new sample preparation technique termed electromembrane extraction (EME). The applied electrical potential across the SLM has typically been in the range of 1-300 V. Successful extractions have been demonstrated even with ...

Electromembrane extraction–Recent trends and where to go

Electromembrane extraction (EME) is an analytical microextraction technique, where charged analytes (such as drug substances) are extracted from an aqueous sample (such as a biological fluid), through a supported liquid membrane (SLM) comprising a water immiscible organic solvent, and into an aqueous acceptor solution. The driving force for the extraction is an electrical potential (dc) applied...

Electroextraction and electromembrane extraction: Advances in hyphenation to analytical techniques

Electroextraction (EE) and electromembrane extraction (EME) are sample preparation techniques that both require an electric field that is applied over a liquid-liquid system, which enables the migration of charged analytes. Furthermore, both techniques are often used to pre-concentrate analytes prior to analysis. In this review an overview is provided of the body of literature spanning April 20...
